Kansal
Kansal Forest is about 15 kms. drive from Chandigarh (Central Point) and is located on the foot-hills of the Shivaliks, close to Kansal Village, and as such has been given the name as Kansal Forest. The road, after passing close to the Engineering College in Sector 12, passes through a couple of villages before approaching the Forest Gate.
Where from the entry to the Forest is restricted and is allowed only if one has the permit. The drive from this Gate onward to the Rest House is quite interesting. All that you see on either side of the road are trees & bushes, till you reach the first Rest House. Close to this Rest House is a small Deer Park.
