Kurukshetra – THE LAND DIVINE
Kurukshetra was at one time the most important centre of Aryan culture. The sacred river Saraswati flowed in this region. It was on its bank that the sage Vyas wrote the immortal epic ‘Mahabharata’. The Vedas, Upanishads and Puranas also originated in this land. It was here that Lord Krishna gave the inspiring message of Gita to Arjuna. The great saints Vashisht and Vishwamitra were also associated with the Holy land. No wonder, it has come to be known as one of the foremost places of pilgrimage in India.
